These are drawings of scupltures from the British museum and from other collections. With these pieces wanted to convey the coldness of the stone and marble which was used to create these beautifully crafted and emotive sculptures. So i chose a cool colour palette and tried to draw them in a detailed yet sum what vague way. The drawings were done in stages layering pastels and rubbing back to create the sense of depth. The overall effect of this made the drawings look asif they were drawn from ice but still retained the level of detail that was needed to define the form.
